Looks like I need to update my popular article about ESP8266 development boards once again. I just found out that Adafruit sells what seems like a really cute development board with LiPo connector: the Adafruit Feather HUZZAH ESP8266, what a name. The ESP module seems to be an ESP-12E, it’s definitely got 4MB flash memory.

The board has roughly the same size as a v2 NodeMCU dev kit. It is 2mm longer but 3mm more narrow.

It comes without headers soldered in which may be a show stopper for some. As usual the price is pretty steep – $16 without shipping! For that price you get 4(!) WeMos D1 mini which are, apart from the missing LiPo connector, on par performance wise.
