SRWare Iron

Google Chrome offers extremely fast site rendering, a sleek design and innovative features. But it also gets critique from data protection specialists for "features" such as creating a unique user ID Google knows about or the submission of data to Google to generate search suggestions. SRWare Iron is a real alternative. It offers the same features as Chrome - minus all the privacy issues. The list of extra privacy features you get with Iron is long and well worth a look.

Better updates, please

One thing Iron does not (yet?) have is auto-update or in-app update. New versions don't become available as quickly as with Chrome. This means that you need to follow the update announcements and install updates manually. Below is a list of available packages by platform and their release timestamp. All details are always posted to the Iron forum.

Alternatively you can follow SRWare on Twitter or get their tweets as a feed.
