How to do Scrum without a Scrum Master

For the past 9 months I’ve been architect and lead-developer in a project that does Scrum as much as the customer permits us to do. Although I’m also a (double) certified Scrum Master with a long agile history, was one of the first Scrum Masters in Switzerland in 2005, I refused play this role actively in this project. We have a project leader who does a pretty good job as Product Owner. But we don’t have a Scrum Master.

Uhhm, yes, but how can you do Scrum without a Scrum Master? After all the SM is widely seen to be the corner stone of any good Scrum project.

Be it as it may, it works really, really well for us. So I guess I should blog about that sometime.
